* Independently research the source of MBS tax factors using Intex and Bloomberg and retrieve tax factors from trustees by forming strong relationships with trustee contacts and follow up until resources are exhausted and tax factors are obtained
* Gain a comprehensive understanding of the typical structured debt instruments, including the tax consequences of the debt instruments in current and past markets and the impact on investors
* Assist in system development, enhancement, and testing related to proprietary software used for MBS income accrual calculations
* Independently generate and review MBS income accruals using a proprietary system, accuracy of the data inputs, and correctness of the results
* Generate U.S. federal income tax forms and statements for CDOs and for offshore issuers, and assist with project planning, development of deliverables, and other technical writing exercises
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
* Supervise and serve as a mentor to associates and interns on engagements
* Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management
* Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management
Qualifications:
* One year of related experience in a financial services, consulting, or accounting firm
