Account Relationship Director

Job Description:

KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We help companies to identify and manage risks inherent in business processes and technology systems that support business objectives, and provide them with the information needed to help them meet their strategic and financial goals. Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking an Account Relationship Director to join us in our Detroit office.

Responsibilities:
• Lead client meetings and employ account management practices to serve the client, including identifying and matching client needs with KPMG’s capabilities
• Act as primary interface with client’s procurement organization
• Work with the client service team to achieve revenue expectations, and with management to enforce compliance with risk management standards
• Qualify and pursue client opportunities, including assigning responsibilities
• Assist with proposal development, account planning and contract negotiations

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Business or a related field or equivalent experience
• Nine years of experience with any of the following: professionals services, high-end audit, accounting/finance advisory, tax, consulting or technology delivery
• Eight years of demonstrated prior leadership, business and account management experience in high-end major national or global accounts
• Verifiable track record of exceeding expectations
• Ability to understand and manage business risk, contacting, client acceptance and suitability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects, staff and internal initiatives or strategic programs
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills that have resulted in business relationships of trust, confidence and results
• Demonstrated success in identifying, initiating, and nurturing business opportunities (on-going or new) and working with high level executives to drive significant revenue and value
• Experience developing and leading relationship building activities with C-Level executives (CEO, CFO, CIO, Tax Directors, Business Executives, General Auditor, etc.)
• Extensive list of key contacts across targeted industry sectors
