Director Transactions Integration & Separation Advisory

Job Description:

Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking a Director to join the Integration and Separation Advisory team to join us in our New York office, focused on the Financial Services industry.

As part of KPMG’s Transaction and Restructuring (T&R) group, the Integration and Separation Advisory Practice provides clients with merger, acquisition and divestiture support, focused on pre-close integration and separation planning and post-close execution. Our professionals work with our clients across the transaction lifecycle to help ensure that deal objectives and value targets are met with minimal disruption to their business.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as day-to-day project leader for integration or separation engagements, acting as the primary client interface to assess risk, raise issues, offer solutions and coordinate KPMG and client teams to deliver on-time and on-budget engagements to meet client objectives throughout the phases of the integration / separation process
• Develop, maintain and sustain relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Lead the creation and development of proposals and play significant roles in client sales meetings and subsequent project delivery. In doing so, work collaboratively with other KPMG Service Lines to help ensure that the best resources are brought to bear for each opportunity
• Refine delivery methodologies, business frameworks, service offerings, delivery tools and analytical techniques and contribute to overall practice growth
• Provide experience based, content rich advice to clients regarding issues relevant to the integration / separation process, so that issues and risks can be mitigated and solutions can be developed
• Proactively identify likely issues that could impact delivery and lever wider KPMG Service Line support as required
• Act as a coach and mentor to more junior resources

Qualifications:

• Five years of integration / separation consulting experience with a Big Four firm, management / strategy consulting firm; corporate experience within a Business Development function is a plus
• Experience with integration / separation projects across a broad spectrum of industries and deal sizes
• Demonstrated integration / separation experience leading integration / separation engagements and major work streams
• Able to show clear knowledge and experience in certain integration / separation related “spike” areas (e.g. Synergies, Communications, Operating Model development, Finance and HR integration, Supply Chain, TSA development etc.), such that the candidate could be considered a Subject Matter Expert in that spike
• Demonstrated leadership ability, for example by leading teams or by developing new thought capital
• Experienced at commercializing new practices/offerings in an advisory environment including business development, methodology creation, team building and marketing
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills,
• BA/BS and MBA degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university
