Senior Associate Tax

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate to join us in our New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Dallas office.

Responsibilities:

• Complete and execute one or more client engagements at the same time, while providing high quality work on every engagement
• Provide input into engagement decisions including work plan and timeline, budget management and resource allocation
• Work concurrently on multiple engagements
• Provide analysis of existing tax or fixed asset data
• Perform conversion of accounting or fixed assets data from existing systems to new systems, including reconciliations of data between prior and successor systems
• Implement improved processes for tax or fixed asset accounting
• Work cooperatively with team members
• Prioritize workload for self
• Communicate project status to supervisor on regular and as needed basis
• Contribute to a positive work environment by being accessible and involved
• Foster personal and professional growth by working with a mentor
• Lead or provide support to engagement manager in leading client service delivery of engagement
• Begin to take responsibility for portions of engagement planning and job administration
• Understand the impact of external factors affecting the client’s business/industry
• Keep management informed on progress of engagement and client relationship issues needing attention
• Recognize, research, and recommend resolution of data issues with little or no supervision
• Develop strong relationships with client, employees and management
• Meet established budgets on engagements through effective planning and execution
• Contribute to a high performance work environment
• Be vigilant in the execution of engagements consistent with Firm’s quality and client service standards
• Support practice growth planning while adhering to risk management policies and resource requirements
• Provide assistance on tax provision work for audit engagements as appropriate for clients served as requested

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university
• Three years of experience in basic accounting and income taxes, including experience in account reconciliations
• Experience in data acquisition or extraction from enterprise systems such as SAP or PeopleSoft
• Experience in managing and manipulating data using Microsoft Access, including structuring data for transfer and load to recipient systems
• Ability to interface with clients and communicate data matters in a manner client can understand
• Ability to manage client expectations
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements
• Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to work well both autonomously and collaboratively
• Demonstrated application of analytical skills to perform calculations and articulate issues of average complexity
• Ability to travel 40 – 60 Percent
