Senior Associate Business Integration

Job Description:
KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice is a recognized leader in providing services crucial to the federal government’s continuous and secure operations. Our professionals assist agencies in managing financial, informational, and operational risks, as well as providing performance improvement recommendations to improve agencies’ efficiency. We are currently seeking a Financial Risk Management Associate or Senior Associate to join us in our New York City, Charlotte or Atlanta offices.

KPMG’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) Services professionals help management and boards of directors to identify, measure, and monitor financial and business risks, the relationships between risks and returns, and the control environment over the management and reporting of these risks. In the very complex world of financial instruments, FRM professionals have assisted in operational audits and reviews, valuation approaches; stress testing, model development and risk rating, and measurement approaches to help management leverage the leading practices in risk identification and measurement.

Qualifications for both positions:
• One or more years merger & integration experience in financial services industry (i.e. operational integration)
• Broad securities product knowledge with associated operations and technology background
• Moderate Project Management or Project Management Office experience in support of a large scale change initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills
• Proven ability to make and sustain meaningful client relationships
• Proficient MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project skills
• Ability to travel
• Experience in one of the following areas:
• Experience in the design and/or execution of merger & integration processes and activities. Experience can be either at the enterprise level (e.g. Project Management Office) or supporting a particular Line of Business (e.g. Retail, Commercial, Technology / Operations, Finance, etc.).
• Exposure to risk management and control concepts and ability to identify risk, evaluate impact and provide mitigation suggestions
• FDIC Assisted Transactions
• Broad securities product knowledge, (foremost Equity, Credit and FX) with associated • Operations and technology background, (i.e., Understand the front to back trade flow for cash products and desirably, derivatives, both exchange-traded and OTC)
• Familiarity with some specialization in areas across Funding, Trade Capture, Clearing, Valuations, Regulatory Reporting, Risk and/or performance information management (data, data modeling, data quality and data processes)
• Familiarity with leading technology applications used by derivatives industry and with outputs put forth from the leading derivatives standards organization, International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA)
• Willing to travel out-of-town 80 percent of the time

Additional Qualifications for Sr. Associates
• Three or more years relevant experience
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Well established understanding of business dynamics and operations
• Background working in and around derivatives operations / technology / projects functions as a business or technical analyst with exposure to leading vendor systems and industry protocols for derivatives
