Job Description: Do you have a passion for solving complex business problems? KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We are currently seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the Credit Risk group in our Philadelphia, Radnor or Washington DC office.Financial Risk Management (FRM) professionals help management and boards of directors to identify, measure, and monitor financial and business risks, the relationships between risks and returns, and the control environment over the management and reporting of these risks. In the very complex world of financial instruments, FRM professionals have assisted in valuation approaches, stress testing, model development and risk rating, and measurement approaches to help management leverage the leading practices in risk identification and measurement. FRM’s Credit Risk segment provides a full range of wholesale and consumer credit risk management and operational improvement services to assist clients in identifying potential risks and opportunities. The credit risk team has deep industry experience in credit policies, services, measurement, processes, collections, models, and reporting within the credit cycle.Responsibilities for both positions:• Perform detailed analysis of consumer/small business credit operations including loan account originations, loan documentation and collateral perfection, loan account management, loan collections, collateral remarketing, real estate foreclosure • Apply knowledge of core consumer/small business loan IT systems to resolve client issues • Develop client solutions based upon an understanding of loan accounting rules and procedures • Use knowledge of consumer compliance laws, rules and regulations in evaluating consumer/small business loan operations • Develop loan operation and collections work flow descriptions identifying key control points and elementsAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:• Supervise Associates and Interns on engagements • Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management • Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management • Serve as a mentor to Associates and new hires • Assist with project planning, development of deliverables and other technical writing exercisesQualifications for both positions:• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Business from an accredited college/university • One to five years of related work experience • Work experience in consumer or small business lending • Familiarity with underwriting score cards, behavior score cards, testing sets, and response modeling • Familiarity with consumer/small business lending IT systems • Direct experience in writing policies and procedures, mapping operational systems, quality control• Willing and able to work away from home for extended periods of time (e.g. three months with trips home each weekend for domestice trips; every two to three weeks for international trips) • Team player, self starterAdditional qualifications for Senior Associate:• Demonstrated supervisory experience• Well established understanding of business dynamics and regulations • Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management • Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management • Serve as a mentor to Associates and new hires • Assist with project planning, development of deliverables and other technical writing exercisesKPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
