Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax compliance and advisory services to help meet our clients'' specific needs. KPMG''s Federal Tax Services Practice offers a broad range of capabilities in the following areas: • Compliance and Advisory Services: comprehensive day-to-day tax advisory services, tax compliance services, regulatory representation, and tax provision preparation and review• Accounting Methods and Credit Services: tax accounting services, research and experimentation tax credit review, and fixed asset review• Mergers and Acquisitions: due diligence, acquisition and disposition tax planning, and services related to troubled companies• Tax Controversy Services: tax court services and alternative dispute resolution services• Tax Management Services: tax operational analysis, tax outsourcing, and tax technology• Tax Planning for Tax-Exempt Organizations: tax management, transactions and reorganizations, advocacy, and complianceResponsibilities: • Conduct Research and Development (R&D) project management • Manage R&D credit studies and related activities • Develop and sustain excellent client relationships during delivery of R&D services• Supervise, mentor and train staff• Assist in new business development including add-on business • Assist other R&D Project Managers with the delivery of engagements as needed, including research and writing with regard to technical issues• Provide R&D Quality Assurance, Engagement Reviewer and Exam Support • Keep up-to-date on current R&D credit practices and tax law• Provide clear and concise R&D credit technical knowledge and experience on industry • Provide the dissemination of pertinent tax law changes/updates to the R&D practice• Assist in quality audit reviews of research credit studies during the design phase and prior to delivery to client• Work with Tax Controversy Services to defend research credit reviews on examination or in conjunction with pre-filing agreement processes• Assist with research and writing with regard to thought leadership, seminars and others• Assist in the development of R&D training materials and work tools Qualifications: • Four years of experience conducting/managing R&D credit projects in a large accounting firm, corporation or law firm • Excellent technical, organizational and management skills• Proficient investigative and analytical skills• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information • Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams• Experience managing large projects• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and use of the Internet• BA/BS in Accounting or other comparable field of study from an accredited college/university• Skill, experience and interest in business development proposals • CPA or J.D./LLM from an accredited college/universityKPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
